How Free Credits Works

Learn how free credits work in Tenki and how to use them to run GitHub Actions runners with better performance and cost improvements.

Every new Tenki account gets $100 in free credits: $50 when you sign up and $50 the first time you add a payment method.

How you get your Free Credits

Create your Tenki account and your workspace starts with $50 in credits immediately. You can begin running CI workflows, triggering code reviews, or spinning up sandboxes.

The sign-up credit is a one-time grant per account, applied to your first workspace. Additional workspaces you create don't receive their own sign-up credit, and deleting your first workspace doesn't grant it to a new one.

Workspaces created before the sign-up credit launched no longer receive the $10 monthly Starter credit.

Payment method credit

The first time you add a payment method to a workspace you own, that workspace receives a one-time $50 credit. You can add one from the workspace's Billing tab.

The payment method credit is also a one-time grant per account. Adding more payment methods, or adding one to another workspace you own, doesn't grant it again, and deleting the workspace that received it doesn't reopen it. Accounts that received the earlier $100 sign-up credit aren't eligible.

How Free Credit Usage Is Calculated

Credits are spent at the same per-unit rates as paid usage. For a 2 vCPU x64 runner billed at $0.002 per vCPU / minute, $100 in credits buys roughly 25,000 minutes. Larger runners burn credits proportionally faster — a 4 vCPU runner burns at $0.008/min, an 8 vCPU runner at $0.016/min.

When you exceed your free credits

Once your free credits are spent, usage is billed at the standard per-unit rates listed on the pricing page. The Team plan ($200/month yearly, $250/month monthly) includes $100 in credits every month and adds higher concurrency and larger runner sizes.
